Cebu is considered as one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines. Cebu is a very known city in Korea. It is because of its culture, history, foods, tourist spots, world class hotels, white sand beaches, whale sharks, entertainment and the friendly people that the city has. There are also many Koreans schools found in Cebu and in Mactan.
So, what do you really expect in Cebu in the year 2020?
LRT and BRT in Cebu
The most important thing to take note and you must be excited about is the Cebu Light Rail Transit (CLRT) and the Bus Rapid Transit (CBRT) systems which will be operational in Cebu City and its neighboring cities in the year 2020. This will surely attract more tourists to come and visit the city because of the transportation will be like the first world country in Asia, Singapore.
Cebu Ocean Park
Considered as the biggest oceanarium in the Philippines, the Cebu Ocean Park, will have its soft opening last quarter of the year 2019 and will be fully operational in the year 2020. Just like Manila Ocean Park, the Cebu Ocean Park is geared with an all-year round tourist destination. The good thing about the park is that it has functions spaces, food halls, multi-animal shows and many more. The park is located just beside San Pedro Calungsod Chapel which is at the back of SM Seaside City in South Road properties. If you want to rent a car to go there, you may call us at 0945-807-2950.
Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway
Another thing to expect in Cebu in the year 2021 is this CCLEX. As of 2018, the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) is an ongoing project of Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corporation which links Cebu City and Cordova with a total length of 8 kilometers. The projected completion date of this bridge will be year 2021. If finished, this Mactan Cebu Third Bridge will be considered the longest bridge in the Philippines. Currently, San Juanico Bridge in Leyte is the longest with 2.6 kilometer in length.
Metro Cebu Expressway
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will begin the construction the Metro Cebu Expressway this year. This will link Carcar City to Danao City with a total distance of 74 kilometer. This is built to shorten the travel time between the said two cities. This will also solve the worsening traffic in Metro Cebu. There is no definite date yet when it will be finished. This is part of the present’s administration program and plans for infrastructure.
We can expect a better Cebu in the next two years. More tourists will surely come and tour in the city. Hopefully, the number of visitors will spike up to a better percentage from the previous year.
